Over 4,600 dengue cases filed
Sri Lanka, July 19 -- Over 4,600 lawsuits have been filed in Courts against people accused of maintaining environments conducive to mosquito breeding around their homes during the first six months of this year.
According to the Police Media Division, 4,672 cases have been filed in Courts between January and June this year against individuals who maintain premises that contribute to mosquito breeding.
The Police, the Ministry of Health and Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) are jointly conducting special dengue control programs across the island. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has instructed all police officers to actively engage with the Public Safety Committees established across 48 police divisions.
