Sri Lanka, Feb. 8 -- A heated exchange over the ongoing Easter Sunday attack proceedings erupted in Parliament on Friday (6), with Leader of the House and Minister Bimal Rathnayake accusing the Opposition of undermining efforts to deliver justice, while Opposition MP Mujibur Rahuman raised concerns over the conduct of the hearings.

MP Rahuman alleged that the expedited hearings into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks could compromise "integrity, equity and justice." He questioned the decision to conduct the proceedings on a daily basis at a premises belonging to a Minister, adding that the location raises concerns about transparency and fairness.
