SriLanka, Oct. 4 -- Kanishka Senanayake, former Colombo District Parliamentary candidate and eldest son of former Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake, died yesterday at the age of 41.

Senanayake was involved in the corporate sector and politics. He contested the 2020 General Election from the Colombo District on the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) ticket, having been involved in political activities from a young age.

He was the eldest of three children of Rosy Senanayake and her late husband, Athula Senanayake. His death was announced on Saturday following a sudden illness.
