SriLanka, Aug. 2 -- Journalists in Jaffna staged a protest on Friday, demanding justice for slain media personnel and calling for impartial and credible investigations into the killings of journalists, attacks on media workers, and violence against media institutions.

The demonstration was held outside the Jaffna District Secretariat, coinciding with the two-day visit of Deputy Minister of Mass Media Dr. Kaushalya Ariyarathna, who was in Jaffna for several official engagements.

As part of her visit, the Deputy Minister participated in the Ministry's "Asi Disi Piyawara" seminar, which provides journalists with an opportunity to raise concerns directly and discuss issues affecting media personnel.
