Srilanka, Oct. 19 -- We in this country seem to have a defunct Opposition. When it's not defunct so far, it has been tenable for nuisance value only.
There is a tremendous un-seriousness it seems about Opposition politics. It's good at operating in fits and starts. There is a lot of bark and not much bite.
One would think that a Government is blessed with this type of rather ham-handed way of offering resistance. But when there is an un-serious Opposition, a governing regime may not be getting all the inputs it deserves.
