Sri Lanka, Dec. 14 -- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra said Sri Lanka's Embassies in Tehran and Muscat have reached out to authorities following reports that Iranian judicial officials have detained crew members, including Sri Lankans, aboard a foreign oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman.
He told the Sunday Observer that the Government is seeking official confirmation regarding the incident and is awaiting further information from the authorities. "Once the details are verified, appropriate action will be taken in accordance with established diplomatic procedures," the Deputy Minister said.
