Sri Lanka, Aug. 23 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake instructed the Security Forces and relevant authorities to expedite the release and return of lands in the Northern and Eastern Provinces that were acquired during the conflict but are no longer required for national security purposes.

The President issued the directive during a discussion held at the Parliamentary Complex on Thursday (20) to expedite the release of private lands acquired for military camps during the conflict, as well as State lands previously used by local communities.
