SriLanka, May 3 -- Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni made an observation tour of the Ayati Centre, Sri Lanka's first national centre for children with disabilities, in Ragama recently.
The centre provides multiple services including physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and psychological consultation to needy children.
Operated under the supervision of the Medical Faculty of the University of Kelaniya and resources from the Ministry of Health, the Ayati Centre is co-supported by the Ministries of Education and Social Services.
The Deputy Minister discussed with the staff the prevailing issues and plans to develop the centre.
