Sri Lanka, Feb. 1 -- A special report on Gunside, a series of underground cells within the Trincomalee Eastern Naval Command identified as the detention site in the Navy abduction for a ransom case has been submitted to the Court by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

The case relates to the enforced disappearance of 11 men from Colombo and its suburbs in 2008 by a Navy-linked extortion ring. The report was filed before the Polgahawela Magistrate's Court concerning a separate missing person's case. The report contains detailed findings on those who were illegally detained in the camp premises. It also includes information obtained from detainees' statements describing the torture they allegedly endured while in custody.
