Sri Lanka, Aug. 24 -- A new study by IPS, a Colombo based think tank shows that there could be more cheap labour emerging in the country due to layoffs and work redundancy stemming from the effects of the US tariff which is estimated to wipe out close to 16,000 jobs in the apparel sector. "The other side of the tariff story is that there could be cheap labour generating for agriculture and many other sectors run by unskilled workers," said the author of the study, Dr. Asanka Wijesinghe.
