Sri Lanka, Aug. 24 -- St. Benedict's College presented the Benedictine Teacher of the Year award to Beverly M. Fernando at the conclusion of the 160th anniversary festive High Mass, at St. Lucia's Cathedral, Kotahena recently.

Fernando joined the College in 2009 and has served with distinction in various key roles. He had been the Sectional Head of the A/L Arts Stream, Chief Moderator of the Sinhala Literary Union, Head of the Religious Committee, Animator of the Young Catholic Students' Movement, and Master-in-Charge of the College Aquatic Centre.
