Sri Lanka, Aug. 24 -- Liyonta Tea Factory, situated in Matara, achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 3,100 per kg for its PEK1 grade in the Low Grown category at the Colombo e-Auction held on 20th August 2025. The record-breaking invoice was purchased by M/s Shan Teas (Pvt) Limited.

The factory, owned by Mr. Ronnie Liyanage, had its teas successfully marketed and sold through Bartleet Produce Marketing (Pvt) Limited.

In addition to this latest achievement, Liyonta Tea Factory also holds the all-time record price of Rs. 2,800 for OPA and Rs. 3,400 for PEK grades - records that remain unbeaten to date.
