Srilanka, Oct. 18 -- Former State Intelligence Service (SIS) chief Major General Tuan Suresh Sallay told the Colombo High Court Permanent Trial-at-Bar that he had received little recognition for his 38 years of service in Intelligence.

This is despite Sallay rising through the ranks to head the agency after being appointed as Director SIS by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in December 2019.

Sallay made the remarks on Friday (16), while testifying as the 90th prosecution witness in the trial over the enforced disappearance of journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda. Sallay, who is currently in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), was brought to the Court under special security arrangements to give evidence.
