SriLanka, Feb. 22 -- Twelve standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will be set up in the country by WindForce PLC.
This will strengthen national grid stability and enable greater integration of renewable energy across the power system.
The twelve projects together will account for a total installed capacity of 120 megawatts with 480 megawatt hours of energy storage, and will be developed as standalone BESS facilities under the Build, Own and Operate model.
Standalone BESS facilities will play a critical role in frequency regulation, system resilience, and the efficient utilisation of renewable energy resources as wind and solar capacity continues to expand.
