Mysuru, Aug. 4 -- Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has urged the Union Government to include Mysuru in the proposed "National Mission for the Development of 50 Globally Competitive Tourist Destinations in India," announced in the Union Budget 2025-26.

Meeting Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi, Yaduveer submitted a proposal seeking the city's inclusion in the mission, under which each selected destination is eligible for Central funding of up to Rs. 500 crore.

The MP highlighted Mysuru's historical, cultural and spiritual significance, stating that the city has the potential to emerge as a globally competitive tourist destination.
