I am writing as a concerned citizen to share a few observations and suggestions on traffic efficiency and road safety in our city.
At many intersections, traffic signals operate in a strictly sequential manner. This often leads to unnecessary waiting, even when traffic is light or when vehicles on opposite sides of the same road are moving in the same direction.
A more coordinated, direction-based signal system could help address this. Allowing traffic moving in the same direction to flow simultaneously across junctions may reduce waiting time, improve fuel efficiency, cut emissions and ease congestion, particularly during peak hours.
