Mysuru, June 27 -- To be held on Oct. 18 and 19; Entry free; Event to cost Rs. 5 crore - Rs. 8 crore

The much-awaited Mysuru Dasara Kambala, to be held as part of this year's Nada Habba, has been rescheduled to Oct. 18 and 19 (Sunday and Monday).

The event was originally slated for Oct. 17 and 18 (Saturday and Sunday) to enable greater public participation. However, the dates were revised after officials pointed out that Oct. 17 coincides with Cauvery Sankramana (Tula Sankramana), when traditional customs prohibit the use of bulls for racing.

The revised schedule was finalised at a meeting held yesterday evening. Entry to the event will be free for the public.
