Mysuru, Oct. 4 -- Demands are growing among residents and civic activists to make Mysuru permanently free of illegal flex boards, hoardings and banners. Citizens are urging MCC and district authorities to ensure that the ban is strictly enforced not just during the Dasara season but on a permanent basis.

MCC sources told SOM that despite explicit directions from the Chief Minister against illegal hoardings, political pressure and interference from local leaders have reportedly made it difficult for officials to take decisive action.

Officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that when MCC's Abhaya teams go out to remove flex banners put up by political leaders, the staff often face harassment from their supporters.
