Mysuru, Sept. 2 -- Despite hike, visitors continue to throng the tiger reserves

The Forest Department has increased the tariffs for the safari at both Bandipur and Nagarahole Tiger Reserves.

The Department had issued a notification announcing the increase of safari tariff during July this year which has come into effect since yesterday.

The revised tariff has come into effect at safaris located at Bandipur's Melukamanahalli Gate and Nagarahole's Kakanakote, Veeranahosahalli and Nanachi Gates.

Under the new rates, the fare for a bus safari has been increased from Rs. 600 to Rs. 1,000 per adult, while children will be charged Rs. 500.

Jeep safari charges have been revised from Rs. 1,100 to Rs. 1,500 per adult and Rs. 750 per child.
