Madikeri, Sept. 2 -- A fight over trivial issue between a woman and her daughter resulted in both of them reportedly jumping into a lake and ending their lives.

The tragedy took place at Kempurashi Motte in Tannimani village near Bhagamandala on Aug. 31.

The deceased have been identified as Prema (36) and her daughter Priyanka (14), residents of Tannimani village.

On Aug. 31 evening, Prema and Priyanka had allegedly quarrelled over a trivial issue. Following the quarrel, Priyanka, in a fit anger, reportedly told her mother Prema that she was going to jump into the lake and ran from the house.

Prema, who saw her daughter running towards the lake, ran behind her only to see Priyanka jumping into the lake.
