Bengaluru, Aug. 12 -- The Monsoon Session of the Karnataka State Legislature will take place here from tomorrow (Aug. 13). The Session will sit for 10 working days till Aug. 27.

Senior Congress MLA from Sira T.B. Jayachandra is the Pro-Tem Speaker of the State Assembly and he will continue until the formal election of the newly named Speaker.

G.S. Patil, Congress MLA from Rona in Gadag, is the ruling Congress party's choice for the Assembly Speaker post.

This will be the first Session for D.K. Shivakumar as the Chief Minister after he took over as the CM on June 3.
