Mysuru, Aug. 14 -- Eight Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs) were cleaned and converted into beautified spots by removing a total of 173.66 tonnes of garbage, involving 568 personnel, all in one day, as part of the Independence Day-80 cleanliness campaign of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) yesterday.

The GVPs from where waste was collected are: Sandhi Keri in MCC Zone-1 jurisdiction; J.P. Nagar 18th Main Road, MCC Zone-2; near Sayyaji Masjid and Nazarbad Main Road, MCC Zone-6; near Ganapathy Temple, Nadanahalli, MCC Zone-7; opposite Sumana School and near RGA School, Kalyangiri, MCC Zone-9; and Eden Garden, Rajiv Nagar Second Stage, MCC Zone-8.
