Mysuru, Oct. 27 -- Why erring Policeman not suspended, asks public; Probe on, says Police Commr.

The five-year-old girl, who suffered a serious head injury after being hit by a Policeman's lathi while he was controlling the crowd at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Circle (Highway Circle)during the Jumboo Savari procession, was discharged from Manipal Hospital this afternoon.

Hospital sources said, Shishira underwent surgery and was kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after the procedure. She was shifted to a ward on Oct. 24 and discharged today.

Her parents had initially paid Rs. 2.50 lakh towards the treatment. Following an assurance from District Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, the hospital continued treating the girl without collecti...
