Mysuru, Aug. 17 -- The Kavali-Filliozat Institute of Indology, a new Research Centre, specialised library and residential retreat dedicated to the history, culture and classical language traditions of Karnataka, was formally inaugurated here yesterday.

The Institute is located at No.125, Vivekananda Road (near I Can International School), Yadavagiri in the city.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Dr. M.S. Krishnamurthy, Professor Emeritus and former Chair of Department of Archaeology, University of Mysore, said the Institute is devoted to the study of Karnataka's past through its primary sources especially inscriptions, manuscripts, literary works and temple architecture.
