India, Oct. 27 -- Mysuru, Oct. 27 - JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU) and Maharani's Commerce and Management College for Women emerged as champions in the Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji Memorial Men's Basketball and Women's Throwball Tournament, respectively, held at the JSS STU campus, recently. The tournament was organised by the Department of Physical Education, JSS STU.

In an exciting men's basketball final, JSS STU edged past The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) with a close 56-47 victory. Chaitanya and Bhuvan Kumar starred for JSS STU, scoring 16 and 14 points, respectively, while Aryan of NIE, who was later declared Player of the Tournament, impressed with 24 points.
