Virajpet (Kodagu), Aug. 31 -- Motorsport legend Maletira Jagath Nanjappa passed away at a private hospital in Mysuru yesterday. He was 68.

Jagath Nanjappa, son of late Maletira Chotu Appanna and a resident of Nalvathoklu village in Virajpet taluk, Kodagu, leaves behind his wife, Anitha Nanjappa and a host of relatives and friends.

Following his demise, Nanjappa's mortal remains were taken to his native, where the body was kept at his residence for people to pay their last respects.

Later, the last rites were held at the Kodava Samaja crematorium in Virajpet this evening, according to family sources.
