India, April 14 -- Sir,

The crater-like potholes and the damaged pipes left on the footpath after the underground repair works were done about 4 months ago are causing untold miseries to the local pedestrians, shop owners and vehicle drivers.

It is sad to note the total apathy and negligent attitude of the authorities concerned. I hope they will wake up now at least and attend to these on a war-footing.
