Mysore/Mysuru, Dec. 21 -- The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mysuru Zone, has initiated a Tree Census Project for Mysuru city, aimed at creating a credible, ward-wise baseline to support Mysuru's environmental planning and long-term sustainable growth.
A scientific tree census effort has already commenced in the city. Mysuru Green Projects (MGP) and the Centre For Advanced Learning (CFAL), Mangaluru, along with a few academic institutions, have begun systematic documentation.
As per the preliminary progress shared, around 15,000 trees have been counted across two wards and the city-wide tree population is estimated to be over 2,00,000.
