Mysuru, Aug. 10 -- After a brief lull, chain-snatchers have struck again in the city, with a 68-year-old woman being robbed of her 50-gram gold chain at Shanthaveri Gopala Gowda Nagar on Aug. 8.
The victim, Shivamma, a resident of the locality, lost the gold chain, worth about Rs. 2 lakh.
According to her complaint, Shivamma was plucking curry leaves near her house at about 8 am when a youth, aged between 18 and 20, approached her and asked for curry leaves.
When she told him to pluck the leaves himself, the youth allegedly pounced on her, covered her mouth and pushed her to the ground before snatching her gold chain and fleeing.
Shivamma said she had purchased the chain two to three years ago.
