BEML seeks nod to cut 137 trees
Mysore/Mysuru, May 21 -- Forest Department invites public objections by May 25
Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) has sought permission from the Forest Department to fell 137 trees for the construction of an 'Industrial Health Centre' within its premises at Koorgalli village in Yelwal Hobli of Mysuru taluk.
The trees identified for removal fall under Survey Nos. 10, 17, 20, 28, 29, 35, 41, 184, 226, 14, 21, 30, 31, 32, 51, 163, 165, 168, 169, 219, 222 and 230/1.
According to the proposal, the trees include 47 teak, 13 acacia, 10 mahogany, 50 wild varieties, 9 phellophorum, 6 silver oak, one orchid tree and one honge tree.
