Bengaluru, Aug. 13 -- Virajpet MLA A.S. Ponnanna has been made the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, with a Cabinet Minister rank.
Ponnanna, a first time MLA, was earlier announced by AICC as candidate for the election to Deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly. However, he was unwilling to become Dy. Speaker. Following this, CM Shivakumar appointed him as his Political Secretary. He was Legal Advisor to former CM Siddaramaiah.
