Hyderabad, May 6 -- US and Iranian officials are reportedly close to reaching a preliminary agreement aimed at ending the war and launching broader negotiations over Tehran's nuclear programme and regional security issues.
According to Axios on Wednesday, May 6, citing US officials and sources familiar with the discussions, the White House believes a one-page memorandum of understanding could soon be finalised between Washington and Tehran.
The proposed framework would reportedly declare an end to the conflict and initiate a 30-day negotiation period covering the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's nuclear programme and sanctions relief.
The report said Washington expected Tehran to respond within 48 hours on several key points under discussion....
