Hyderabad, Sept. 16 -- Telangana government-run NMDC Ltd has recovered a 27.29-carat diamond from its Panna mine in Madhya Pradesh, the second-largest gem unearthed at the facility since it began operations, the company said on Wednesday, September 16.

The stone, valued initially at a minimum auction price of about Rs 1 crore based on its colour, carat weight, clarity and S-shape, could eventually fetch between Rs 2 crore and Rs 2.5 crore once it goes through the prescribed evaluation and auction process, National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) said.
