Hyderabad, Oct. 29 -- A class 10 girl died after allegedly getting her period at a Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) hostel in Siddipet on Thursday, October 29. Her parents and local leaders staged a sit-in protest outside the mortuary at Siddipet Government Hospital demanding an enquiry.

The girl had returned to the KGBV Raghavapur hostel on October 24 after spending the Dasara vacation with her family. Speaking to Siasat.com, Siddipet Rural Station House Officer Navatha said the girl did not inform anyone after getting her period for the first time.
