Hyderabad, Nov. 6 -- The Hyderabad Traffic Police booked six people in one week for using fake number plates on their vehicles to avoid challans.

The criminal cases were registered under various Law & Order Police Stations, including Banjara Hills Police Station, Hanamkonda Police Station, Amberpet Police Station, Kondapur Police Station and Choutuppal Police Station.

In a statement, the Hyderabad Traffic Police said only government-approved High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) are legally permitted. Any custom alterations, missing digits, or temporary stickers are strictly illegal.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police reiterated its Zero Tolerance policy toward fraudulent vehicle registration practices.
