Hyderabad, Oct. 23 -- Journalist Shankar Goud, who runs the YouTube channel News Line Telugu and has reported extensively on deaths at Medicover Hospitals in Secunderabad, has been remanded for 14 days, days after Hyderabad police arrested him on a complaint filed by the hospital's management.

Gopalapuram Police arrested Goud on Thursday, October 22. Plainclothes officers reportedly surrounded his house and took him to the police station. A video of the arrest that went viral on social media shows Goud and his family asking why he was being taken in when the First Information Report (FIR) invoked only bailable provisions.
