Hyderabad, June 22 -- The secretary of Janapriya Lake Front Society in Kapra, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, who called a teenage Muslim boy a "Pakistani" during an argument, has apologised unconditionally for his Islamophobic remark.

"I apologise to everyone who was hurt by my remarks. I also apologise to the boy. The words were not intentional," the managing committee secretary said.

He further expressed respect towards the Muslim community. "Most of my tenants are Muslims. I did not mean to insult them," he said.
