Hyderabad, June 22 -- Iran's national football team left a handwritten thank-you note in their locker room after a goalless draw with Belgium, paying tribute to victims of the Minab school bombing while thanking supporters and calling for peace.

The message was shared by Iran's football federation after the Group G match at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 21. The result kept Iran's hopes of progressing to the World Cup knockout stage alive.

Message of gratitude

"We came to Los Angeles with pride, competed with honour, and leave with dignity," the note read.

The players also thanked supporters for backing the team throughout the tournament.
