Hyderabad, April 30 -- Philanthropist and social worker Fazilath Raheem passed away on Sunday, April 26, due to prolonged illness after suffering from a stroke, with her family by her side. She was 89 years old at the time of her death.
Born on May 5, 1936, to Hussain and Fatima Sherza, she spent several years helping the underprivileged, including starting an orphanage in Hyderabad called the Fatima Centre.
What was initially a simple effort to support local widows turned into a trusted philanthropic journey, with neighbours and community members coming to her directly to offer their support.
Known to many as Fazilath Apa, and to some nieces and nephews still as the Dulhan Mami, she was married to Mohammed Rahimuddin for over 30 years...
