Hyderabad, Oct. 28 -- Gandhi Medical College (GMC) on Tuesday, October 27, inaugurated an Emergency Medicine Department (EMD), becoming the first government medical college in Hyderabad to establish it.

It has become the third government medical college in Telangana to open an emergency medicine unit.

NMC requirement

The new department was launched in line with the National Medical Commission (NMC) requirement for medical colleges to have dedicated emergency medicine facilities.

As the department has 45 beds, it is the largest emergency medicine facility among government medical colleges in Telangana.
