Hyderabad, Oct. 30 -- The Hyderabad District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-II has directed PVR INOX to pay Rs 6,000 to a moviegoer after a scheduled screening was cancelled soon after it started.

Of the Rs 6,000 PVR INOX was ordered to pay, Rs 5,000 was the compensation and Rs 1,000 was the moviegoer's litigation expenses.

Incident at INOX theatre in Sarath City Capital Mall

The cancellation of the movie took place in 2025 at the INOX theatre in Sarath City Capital Mall in Gachibowli.

The complainant, Prashanth, bought a ticket for Rs 173 from the BookMyShow app on January 26, 2025, for the Telugu film "Hong Kong Warriors."

However, at the theatre, the screening of the movie was stopped 10 minutes after it started.
