Hyderabad, May 4 -- A lantern festival will be held in the city on May 9, with organisers expecting a large turnout for the evening event.

The festival is scheduled to take place along the Shankarpalli Road stretch between 6:30 pm and 10:00 pm. Organised by The Story Time Society, the programme will feature the coordinated release of sky lanterns, inspired by traditional lantern celebrations in Thailand, creating an illuminated display in the night sky.

Participants are required to register in advance via STS's social media platforms, with entry passes including access to the venue and lantern kits. In addition, live music performances, food stalls, and entertainment activities have been arranged.
