Hundreds escape tragedy after train coaches detach near Vijayawada
Bengaluru, May 26 -- A major railway tragedy was narrowly averted after coaches of a special train travelling from Bengaluru to Bihar got detached while the train was moving at high speed. The incident, which came to light late, occurred on May 24 near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. Fortunately, no passengers were injured.
According to railway sources, the Danapur Special Train (No. 03252), which had departed from Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT), Bengaluru, around 1 am on May 23, developed a technical fault while passing through Andhra Pradesh.
