Kathmandu, Aug. 27 -- Nepal Police on Thursday, August 27, arrested two men accused of stealing gold earrings from the body of a flood victim, a day after catastrophic flash floods and landslides along the Bhotekoshi river killed at least 359 people and left hundreds more missing.

According to a press release issued by the District Police Office in Bharatpur, Chitwan, officials received a video showing the alleged theft from a body that had been swept in by the flooding on Wednesday, August 26. The footage showed the men using a long pole to approach the body before allegedly removing a gold earring from the deceased's ear.
