Hyderabad, Aug. 24 -- The Central Crime Station (CCS) of Hyderabad Police's Detective Department has arrested an alleged fraudster who had been absconding since 2021 for impersonating a senior Andhra Pradesh police official and allegedly duping several people by promising hefty returns on investments.

The accused, 40-year-old Konduru Reddy Venkat Raju, aka DSP Raju, hails from the Annamayya district of Andhra Pradesh. He is already involved in two cases in Andhra Pradesh and one in Hyderabad's Tukaramgate police station, said the police.

Police said the fraud was orchestrated by a gang of cheats, with Raju allegedly posing as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati district. Using the false identity, he is ...
