Fire officials' response time causes concern in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Aug. 28 -- A fire broke out at an apartment building in Manikonda on Thursday, August 27, and fire officials allegedly reached the spot 55 minutes late, with people raising concern over the delay, saying such lapses could have resulted in a major accident or loss of life.
People have also alleged that despite Film Nagar and Golconda Fire Stations being nearer to the incident spot, the call was routed to Gachibowli Fire Station, which was farther away.
Fire officials, however, denied the claim, saying they reacted immediately after receiving information from the control room, and if there was any delay, it was due to traffic and narrow lanes.
