Hyderabad, Oct. 31 -- Speaking here on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's anniversary on Saturday, October 31, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy alleged that the first instance of 'vote chori' was right after Independence, in favour of Jawaharlal Nehru.

Addressing media after paying tribute to the leader on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas along with BJP state chief N Ramchander Rao, Reddy said that it was the then Nehru family's 'vote chori' that got Jawaharlal Nehru the prime ministership.

He said that had Patel become the PM instead, the country would have been very different today.
