Lucknow, Sept. 11 -- At the hearing on a plea that a Hindu man was held captive by his own family after he converted to Islam to marry a Muslim woman, the Allahabad High Court has directed authorities in Uttar Pradesh to produce the man, reports said on Friday, September 11.

In a case registered by the Shamli police, Ayush Malik's conversion had led to the arrest of Chandni Qureshi and her father under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021. The two were subsequently arrested and spent months in jail.
