Hyderabad, Oct. 24 -- A 12-year-old boy died in Suryapet district after falling while running from a group of monkeys that approached him and a friend near a lake.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the incident took place in Vallapuram village of Nadigudem mandal. The boy, Nishanth, son of Veerababu, was declared dead by staff of the 108 ambulance service, who were called after the village hospital could not provide medical assistance.

Nishanth and his friend Manendar, son of Desgani Satish, had gone fishing in a nearby lake. The monkeys approached them as they were heading home, and the frightened boys ran. Nishanth fell in the rush.
