Bengal SIR: 18L+ voter appeals have no tribunal decision record
Hyderabad, Oct. 7 -- More than 18.78 lakh appeals filed by voters deleted during the adjudication phase of West Bengal's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 had no recorded tribunal decision as of September 28, according to a dataset compiled by the Civic Research Group (CRG), a "group of researchers, analysts and field contributors in West Bengal."
The CRG's Tribunal Appeal and Disposal Evidence Report covered all 294 Assembly constituencies across 23 districts.
Only 37,272 of the 19,15,941 applications in the dataset had recorded decisions, covering both approved and rejected, meaning 98.05 per cent remained pending.
